Customer Information Officer Trainee x5

Opus Northamptonshire on behalf of West Northamptonshire Council is looking for five Customer Information Officer Trainees to join Customer Service Team in The Guildhall, NN1 1DE.

This is a full- time, office- based role. Possible temp to perm- after initial 12 weeks’ assignment through Opus.

JOB PURPOSE:

  • Provide first class customer-orientated advice and information service to the Customers and visitors to West Northamptonshire Council, at the Councils One Stop Shop and Contact Centre
  • To be an advocate for the delivery of service excellence across the council, and all our external partners
  • To learn all about the Council services, how it delivers business to our customers, and to understand how delivering customer excellence in challenging circumstances is critical to support the local community

KEY RESULT AREAS:

  • To deliver a high standard customer contact, ensuring that every interaction enhances the customer’s experience
  • Creating a welcoming environment to visitors and customers, inspiring confidence in our customers, advocating approachability and friendliness
  • To undertake specific training on duties and procedures relevant to all areas of the Council, and a Customer Services qualification
  • To undertake Corporate training and development as required
  • To comply with WNC’s policies and procedures

AS CUSTOMER INFORMATION OFFICER TRAINEE YOU WILL:

  • To assist the relevant area of the Council, with all aspects of general routine workload for the purpose of recording accurate records
  • Utilise local computer systems in order to collect data, and maintain a log of the actions taken on customer records
  • Communicate with internal and external customers in writing via, e-mail, or telephone
  • Embrace team-spirit, through networking and team meetings
  • Identifying innovate ways to contribute towards continuous service improvements
  • Supporting a ‘customer first’ culture within Customer Services
  • To meet, maintain and exceed own performance under the Divisions Performance standards
  • To take ownership of each transaction within own scope and level of knowledge, reducing escalations and knowledge builds
  • Supporting and encouraging channel shift to the web, and actively support self-serve whilst Floor-walking
  • To provide an exemplary advice and assistance service to the Councils customers using on-line applications and the web
  • To support and contribute towards the Customer Excellence Strategy through full team integration and multi-skilling
  • To ensure compliance with all Council policies with particular reference to GDPR, Data protection, Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities and Communication policies
  • The post holder may from time to time be required to carry out other duties provided they are within the general level of responsibility of the post and within the abilities of the post holder

 

PLEASE NOTE THE JOBHOLDER:

  • Is not directly responsible for people or resources.
  • Responsible to relevant team leader, and part of a circa 90+strong team across Customer Services.
  • Once shortlisted, will be invited to telephone interview, and later to face- to- face interview with typing test.
