Job description

Looking for a position that isn't your normal 9-5?

Do you enjoy working with people every day?

Are you looking to start a career in Residential Support Work? Or are you an experienced Residential Support Worker who is looking for a new challenge?

We are currently recruiting for a challenging yet rewarding position as a Residential Youth Support Practitioner based in Suffolk!

You will be joining a team of resilient, friendly, and dedicated Residential Youth Support Practitioners who provide direct care to young people between the ages of 11 - 17 years old receiving specialist residential care.

Within this role you will provide the necessary support, care, guidance, and a positive adult role model attitude in helping the young children through their journey within the support function, ensuring every individual consistently maximises their potential.

The suitable candidate for this position won't necessarily need previous experience within a residential setting. You will have the ability to be resilient, self-driven, highly motivated, looking to develop a career within social care, have a passion for support work and be able to engage, showing empathy and understanding with individuals of all levels from diverse backgrounds. Most importantly you will be eager to learn and develop new and existing skills.

This role at times will be challenging but with a professional experienced team around you, you will have the full training, guidance and the support needed to fulfil the position of a Residential Youth Support Practitioner. Not only will you be fully supported by your line managers and teams, but Suffolk County Council will also provide you with a fully funded Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care, to be completed within 2 years of employment required by Ofsted. This qualification will also enable you to enhance your career development into potential senior roles.
