P/T HR Advisor required for ongoing contract.
Opus People Solutions on behalf of Wyre Forest District Council are looking for a HR Advisor to join the HR team on a part -time basis (20 hours per week). This exciting hybrid opportunity is a job share and the working days will be Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
The HR function plays a key role in the smooth running of the Council and this exciting opportunity will be supporting the delivery of the People and Organisation Development Strategy.
As a HR Advisor your role will include:
Providing first line HR advisory services regarding employee relations.
Supporting managers across the Council in people management; attending meetings and providing guidance.
Supporting managers with absence management.
Handling maternity and paternity request.
Assisting with the updating of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives.
Managing HR information systems for data input and statistical analysis.
The ideal candidate will be CIPD qualified and have skills and experience in the following:
Up-to-date knowledge of employment law and an understanding how this can impact the business
A team player with a track record of working successfully as an HR Advisor.
Knowledge of TUPE.
Experience of managing redundancy and change management.
Significant case management experience in disciplinary, grievance and effective investigation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated, organised and flexible to respond to customer needs.
Ability to working to deadlines and prioritising own workload
Emotional intelligence, customer focus, empathy and understanding.
Competent written skills.
Problem Solving Skills.
