Opus People Solutions and Opus LGSS decided to fundraise for Children in Need on Friday 17th November as part of a new focus on charity and giving something back. Across our three offices, we raised a grand total of £322.29!

Our fundraising activities throughout the day included staff wearing spots, this ranged from blouses to scarves to socks and ties for a minimum donation of £1. Both the teams in Ipswich and Northampton ran a competition to guess the number of sweets in the jar and this proved extremely successful bringing out some individuals competitive nature, both winners were very pleased with their prize!

The larger of our three offices, being Endeavour House in Ipswich, also hosted a bake sale in the atrium. The whole team were challenged to bake something sweet or savoury keeping in line with the Pudsey Bear theme. Everyone was up for the challenge and some even had test bakes prior to Friday to ensure perfect goodies on the day! The day started with 18 different types of sweet and savoury treats being brought in, this ranged from biscuits to cheese straws and even vegan cupcakes. As the sale was scheduled for 11am, we set the stall up and 10:45 and already had a large queue forming, we quickly realised we might sell out before the lunchtime rush. A massive thank you to the generous staff at Suffolk County Council for their donations of cakes to sell and boost our offering! Overall, the bake sale was incredibly successful, and with an overwhelming amount of generosity, this raised £279.76 alone!
The day was extremely positive, everyone ate too much cake and gave generously. The activities boosted team morale and it was good to see the three teams come together in spots to raise money for a good cause.

We have strong core values at Opus and fundraising is something we are always keen to get involved with. We plan to have many more bake sales and increase our fundraising activities throughout 2018 for our chosen charities, EACH and Rainbows.
